While Saba is designed to operate as a sociocratic DAO, giving power and authority to all participants, the founding member, Shasta Winn, has had a significant influence on shaping the community's direction. With a background in psychology, and extensive experience in therapeutic settings, Shasta brings a deep understanding of human behavior to her role within Saba. Her exploration of interfaith mysticism and entheogens, particularly psilocybin mushrooms, have further enriched her insights into the human psyche and the potential for transformative experiences. As a trained facilitator, Shasta plays a crucial role in guiding participants through integration processes, offering valuable support and guidance on their spiritual journeys within the community.
Driven by her passion for ecological sustainability, Shasta has also immersed herself in permaculture and sustainable living practices. Her commitment to environmental stewardship is evident in Saba Cooperative's ethos, where participants are encouraged to live harmoniously with nature. Shasta's holistic vision inspires us as we strive to create a community that embodies the values of deep ecology, spiritual growth, and interfaith understanding.
